The start of your
Human Design
Journey

“The vast majority of human beings walking around out there do not understand they are deeply, deeply programmed.”

Bodygraph & Centers

4 Types

Human Design classifies people into 4 different types, where each type has its own distinctive aura frequency (the electromagnetic field around the body). The differences between the types are perhaps not obvious at first, but are nonetheless deeply rooted in our soul and dictate who we really are.

We distinguish ‘Generators’ (representing more than 66% of the population), ‘Projectors’ (almost 23%), ‘Manifestors’ (10%) and ‘Reflectors’ (the small minority, a bit above 1%).

Each type plays a specific role in the world. The energy types (Manifestors and Generators) form the foundation of our society. Manifestors are innovators and are able to develop new, progressive ways and paths. The creative energy of Generators literally keeps everything alive and functioning.

Projectors are the natural guides and leaders but need the energy types for its own survival. Reflectors are in the center, acting as a glue and connecting people and types. They are here to bring balance and justice.

Bodygraph & Centers

The picture to the left is called a Rave Bodygraph. It represents a map of all the unique characteristics of an individual. The 9 geometrical shapes inside the bodygraph are the centers. Each of them is responsible for a specific area in our life. These centers are interconnected by 36 channels and always terminate in a gate. In total we have 64 gates.

The framework of the bodygraph is always identical, but the ‘coloring’ is very individual and specified during 2 precise moments. One is the exact time of your birth, the other is the same time 3 months before. The position of the planets on both events defines the coloring.

The centers have the biggest impact on someone’s personality, followed by the channels. The different gates represent the smallest qualities and characteristics of each individual.

Not-Self

Usually the mind doesn’t care about any defined characteristics due to its permanent nature. It’s nothing special and our brain assumes everybody is alike. We tend to focus mainly on the non-defined white parts in of our bodygraph, resulting in the pains and struggles we endure in life.

These characteristics are not reliable nor dependable so the mind believes we are not good enough and have to improve ourselves.

We try to artificially fix something what is supposed to be in constant flux. By doing so we are endlessly conditioning and creating our not-self. Nothing undesirable, until the moment we rely on it for making decisions. Instead, it's more beneficial to trust the body signals initiated by our Inner Authority or the True-Self.

As I explained before, we are all very unique and individual, however very similar in the not-self and completely homogenized in our openness.

Strategy & Authority

‘Strategy and Authority’ are 2 words you will hear a lot when studying more about Human Design. Initially the theme only had a military meaning, but through time it was adopted in business. Furthermore, the definition of ‘strategy’ changed and can now be better described as ‘the pattern in the stream of decisions’.

Precisely how to look at it from a Human Design angle.

Human Design offers an alternative to the traditional way of making decisions.

The method of using our logical mind doesn’t serve us because of the difficult and ineffective process. You simply cannot take into account all the details and variables in a given situation.

The Human Design’s perspective starts from our ‘body-intelligence’ and the belief it knows best what the right action is. Our body constantly gives us ‘yes/no’ signals. If you learn how to read them, you will make the right decision every time. This is what is called “Inner Authority” in Human Design. These body reactions are responses on whatever life brings on your path in accordance with your strategy. Here, everything depends on your type:

For Generators it is suggested ‘to respond’ to requests of life. Do you feel you have the energy to do it?

Projectors are here for the others, so for them it makes sense ‘wait for an invitation’.

These are requested by someone open to receive guidance by the projector.

Reflectors are recommended to wait a full lunar cycle before making important decisions. It gives them the time to filter out the right actions in regard to people and especially places.

Manifestors are the only type doing things backwards. First the right decision comes followed by the strategy ‘to inform’ others.

Incarnation Cross

Profile

Your Profile is your life’s costume. Similar like wearing a coat when going out, you put  on your 'Profile' when you have to socialise.

It shows the role you play in society and defines the patterns of your character.  Two persons may share the same Type, Inner Authority or other characteristics, nevertheless having dissimilar Profiles will result in a  different manifestation to the outside world.

The Profile is the union of two numbers derived from the positions of the Sun and Earth in both columns of your chart. The 64 Gates we use in Human Design originate from the 64 hexagrams of the I‘Ching. Each hexagram (or gate) has 6 variations or lines, all possible combinations of these lines result in 12 different Profiles.

The black colored elements represent the conscious and recognizable characteristics, or the qualities you can identify yourself with. Red colored features remain largely unrecognized due to its unconscious nature.

Incarnation Cross

Why on earth am I here?

Where astrology uses the Zodiac Circle (the inner circle on the picture below), Human Design applies the circle of the I-Ching with hexagrams (the outer circle on the same picture).

The cross of 2 polarities in the middle, formed by the Sun and the Earth of Personality and Design, completes our Incarnation Cross.

The combination of themes of the Incarnation Cross defines 70% what we call our personality. Together with the rest of our design it serves the ‘Sun of Personality’ and therefore the our purposes. It shows a story line which we are meant to live out.

In order to achieve this life purpose, you don’t have to do anything special at all. Simply tune-in with your natural life trajectory and all will unfold itself.

How to do that? Our Strategy and Authority are the tools we have at our disposal on the way to self-fulfilment. When we live our lives as our True-Self, we don’t have to carry our ‘cross’, instead it will support us.

In the homogenized world of today, understanding your real life purpose is a treasure. For Generators, the most important is to find ‘satisfaction’. If not satisfied, even all the wealth in the world will not make them happy.

For Projectors achieving ‘success’ or recognition of others is the main theme of life. While it is ‘peace’ for Manifestors and ‘being surprised’ for Reflectors. Grasp the differences?

There are 768 basic Incarnation Crosses, of which 448 are right angled, 256 are left angled and 64 Juxtaposed. In total there are 69.120 possibilities of unique crosses.
