The Sun has left the Gate 55 Spirit last Friday. This Gate and Spirit are now on the radar of the Human Design community, as it will be the flagship of the approaching Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix in 2027.
Gate 55 is also defined in my own design and in the 5th line, the line of maximum manifestation of each hexagram. Past transits have highlighted and reinforced a new understanding of its qualities, and perhaps my experience will be helpful in giving you a rough idea of what lies ahead for all of us after 2027.
I am very familiar with its steely and persistent power, always appearing unexpectedly but at the most opportune moment. It cannot be counted on in advance, it cannot be planned like, for example, the willpower of my defined Ego center. The Spirit is a free bird, it comes and goes as it pleases. And it doesn't awaken to solve current problems, but to overcome obstacles and stand up for myself and my way. And the greater the obstruction, the greater the Spirit. There have been a few occasions when I myself have been frightened by its power.
The Gate has a downside - complete powerlessness, which in my case could last for months or even years. Time stops and nothing happens, and then I am truly at the mercy of willpower alone.
Gate 55 has been described as a glass that is either half empty or full. This time I immediately got a taste of that emptiness alongside the movement of the Sun. It was a pretty pleasant melancholy and sadness until my native 55.5 happened in a transit and the Great Emptiness took over my whole body and existence. All I could do was lie down and stare at the ceiling. Or it became fascinating to look at the earthquake crack in the wall. Two thoughts remained in my mind - why all this? And why doesn't it end right now?
There is a lot of selfishness in the Gate. When its power manifests, I know it's only for me, I can't share it or support anyone else as the rest of my design requires. But when you come into contact with the Void, you are just as alone, and it truly demands the power of the Spirit to face it. Those moments are not weakness at all, it's the same strength but from the other side.
So, do you still want 2027?
